2008 Staff Person of the Year - Lisa Shearin

Congratulations to Lisa Shearin who was chosen as the recipient of the Wilson Community College 2008 Distinguished Staff Award. Ms. Shearin is the Financial Aid Officer for the College.  Ms. Shearin has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Barton College and a master’s degree in Counselor Education from East Carolina University.  Ms. Shearin started her career as a financial aid counselor with NC Wesleyan College before moving to Wilson Community College.

Ms. Shearin is an enthusiastic staff member who always strives to project a positive demeanor.  The students she serves describe Ms. Shearin as friendly and helpful.     

Ms. Shearin is highly regarded among her financial aid peers both at our College and throughout the North Carolina Community College System.  Ms. Shearin is very involved in professional development organizations and is a member of the North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
