    Painting Should Be Fun New

    Explore drawing and painting on everything available with everything available. We will use unconventional materials and techniques that involve ordinary materials you might find in your closet or garage. We will explore acrylic, oil, pastel, tempera, house paint, and more on a variety of surfaces. Anything can be your canvas!

    Water Soluble Painting Your Way

    This course is designed for beginners or experienced painters. Join Frans Van Baars for an introduction to water solubles (watercolor, acrylic, tempera) from the planning stages to a completed painting. Students will learn about composition, principles of design, color harmony, and inherent qualities of materials used. This is a VERY, VERY BASIC approach to these fascinating media with astonishing results. If you have art supplies, bring them... if not, come anyway. Needed supplies will be discussed at the first class meeting.

    Basic Photography

    Class will cover the basics of photography while touching on such specialized areas as photojournalism, travel, sports and pet photography and portraiture. Special emphasis will be placed on feeling more comfortable, and confident, with the camera. Also, the history and evolution of photography will be covered including how it has progressed from film to the digital age.

    Pottery

    Functional Pottery New

    This class is for anyone with a desire to learn to make functional pottery. Both beginners and ceramic artists wishing to continue developing their own distinct style are welcomed. Both beginning wheel and hand building skills will be presented. Class demonstrations will be given weekly alternating between hand building and wheel techniques. The class will be tailored to students’ individual skill levels and interest. The class is an avenue to expand one’s creativity and self-expression, to work with other clay artist, and to exchange new ideas. (25 lbs. of clay provided.)
