Nursing Class of 2009

 

The Allied Health/Sciences department offers a variety of programs designed to meet the increasing demand for specialized professionals in the health care industry.  The programs in this department offer a broad range of career options for individuals.  The department offers a variety of programs at the Associate in Applied Science degree, diploma, and certificate levels.  Graduates of these programs should possess skills and knowledge that will enable them to seek employment in institutions such as hospitals, physicians’ offices, nursing homes, home health care, and other health care agencies.

The mission of the Allied Health department is to educate students in the art and science of being a professional member of the health care fields at a level where they can function on graduation as a safe practitioner in their chosen field.

The mission of the Sciences department is to educate students in the sciences content necessary for the success of the student in the Allied Health and College Transfer programs of the College.

    Review Dates for the Nursing Class of 2009

    • February 1, 2009 - Application process deadline.
    • TBA - Review process begins.
    • TBA- Applicants completing Step 1 will receive letter inviting them to take the TEAS.
    • TBA - Nursing admissions test (TEAS) administered (8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.) with registration required. Picture id, $25.00 fee receipt and ticket from ATI required to sit for testing. Health forms will be distributed at this time.
    • TBA - Students will be notified of their conditional acceptance or deferred status by letter.
    • TBA - Physical exam form, Hepatitis B, and copy of CPR card must be turned in by 4 p.m. Certificate of Acceptance due on or before this date.
    • All late Certificate of Acceptance, physical exam forms, Hepatitis B, and CPR cards will result in the student being moved to the bottom of the alternate list.
