The Allied Health/Sciences department offers a variety of programs designed to meet the increasing demand for specialized professionals in the health care industry. The programs in this department offer a broad range of career options for individuals. The department offers a variety of programs at the Associate in Applied Science degree, diploma, and certificate levels. Graduates of these programs should possess skills and knowledge that will enable them to seek employment in institutions such as hospitals, physicians’ offices, nursing homes, home health care, and other health care agencies.
The mission of the Allied Health department is to educate students in the art and science of being a professional member of the health care fields at a level where they can function on graduation as a safe practitioner in their chosen field.
The mission of the Sciences department is to educate students in the sciences content necessary for the success of the student in the Allied Health and College Transfer programs of the College.
Wilson Community College wants to help you achieve that goal! If you have applied or are planning to apply for either the Associate Degree Nursing or Practical Nursing Education curriculum, we strongly encourage you to attend one of our annual question and answer sessions. We will discuss the requirements, steps, and time-line for acceptance into the nursing programs, as well as answer any questions you may have. Counselors, advisors, and the nursing faculty will be at these information sessions. Choose only one information session. We hope to see you there!
