Though transferring students often have more familiarity with the college environment than do first time students, policies, procedures, and resources vary from one college to another. That variation is especially large when students are transferring from outside North Carolina or from a four-year college or university to a NC community college.
As a part of the admissions process, you should have submitted official transcripts of any and all previous college coursework. Once submitted, our Registrar’s Office will evaluate your transcripts for possible transfer of credits to your chosen program of study. In order for previous college courses to be considered for transfer credit, the courses must be (1) from a regionally accredited college or university, (2) the course grades must be C or better, (3) the courses must be comparable in course content and credit, and In some cases, the number of years since the credit was earned can be a factor.
