Registration for Concurrent Enrollment Students is held on the same date(s) available for all Special Credit Students to register for classes. Typically this is the day before the first day of classes. For specific dates and times for the upcoming semester, please call the College at (252) 246-1281 or (252) 246-1276.
- Students must be at least 16 years of age and be a junior or senior.
- The principal must certify that the student is enrolled in at least two block schedule classes or half of a school day and making satisfactory academic progress.
- Concurrent enrollment forms must be completed in their entirety before registration will be allowed in Wilson Community College. Students will not be permitted to register if the form is not completed and signed by a counselor, parent, and the principal.
- A Special Credit Application must also be submitted prior to registering.
- Students may not be permitted to concurrently enroll in developmental/remedial courses (courses which begin with 0 in the course number).
- Concurrent enrollment is limited to courses that do not have prerequisites unless the student has successfully completed the prerequisites. Students can take the placement tests in an attempt to meet a reading, math, English, or computer skills prerequisite. For more information, please call (252) 246-1276.
- By state law, concurrent enrollment students may not displace tuition-paying adults and will be permitted to enroll as space permits.
- Tuition is waived for students who concurrently enroll in curriculum classes. All concurrently enrolled students must pay the student fees when they register and pay for books. (Note: Fees are subject to change pending legislation.)
