What is ABE?

Adult Basic Education is a program of instruction designed for adults who need to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and problem solving, or computation skills to function more effectively in society, on a job, or in the family.

What is taught?

Instruction in ABE includes reading, writing, arithmetic, and everyday life skills.

Who is eligible?

Adults 18 and over (or sixteen- and seventeen-year olds with the proper release forms from the public school and parents) may enroll.

How long does it take to complete?

Each individual works at his/her own speed depending on demonstrated skills upon entering the program. There is no specific time limit for completion.
