Refunds

For Occupational Extension classes, a 100% refund shall be made if the student withdraws prior to the first class meeting. A 75% refund shall be made if the student withdraws from the class prior to the official 10% point of the class.  In either case requests for refunds must be made by completing a Continuing Education course withdrawal form, these forms are available in the Continuing Education Office (B-105). No refunds are granted for Community Service and Self-Supporting courses once the classes have started. For classes canceled by the College, a full refund shall be made.  You do not have to request a refund in these cases. Please allow 3 - 5 weeks for processing refunds. No refunds shall be made after the 10% point of the class.

Course Repeats

A student enrolling in the same Occupational Extension course more than twice within a five-year period will pay the full student cost. Details of these charges are available in the Continuing Education Office. This provision is waived if course repetition is required for certification or licensing standards.

Cancellations

A course may be canceled if fewer than 10 enroll. Registration fees will be returned if the class is full or is canceled.

Occupational Extension

Registration fees charged for community college continuing education courses have increased. Registration fees for courses beginning on or after August 15, 2009 are as follows:

  • 1-24 hours = $70.00
  • 25-50 hours = $125.00
  • 51or more hours = $180.00

*Occupational Extension students will be charged a $5.00 technology fee per semester for courses consisting of 9 or more hours.

Continuing Education

Continuing Education students taking on-campus classes will be charged a $15.00 security/parking fee per semester for courses consisting of 16 or more hours.

College and Career Readiness

College and Career Readiness classes are free; however, on-campus students are required to pay a $15.00 security fee for courses consisting of 16 or more hours.

NC High School Equivalence Diploma Program - Free

GED Exam - $120.00 Effective January 1, 2014 (required)

Adult High School Diploma Program - Free

Cost: Tuition and Books - FREE
Fees: $15.00 - parking/security fee per semester

English as a Second Language - Free

Cost: Tuition and Books - FREE
AHS Diploma - $5.00 (required)
Graduation Ceremony - $15.00 (optional)

Community Service/Self-Supporting Courses

Community Service/Self-Supporting Fees are based on the cost of offering the course. There is no fee exemptions. All students must pay.

EMT/EMS, Nurse Aide, Phlebotomy and Pharmacy Technician

Accident and Malpractice Insurance is required for EMT/EMS, Nurse Aide, Dialysis, and Phlebotomy students. Insurance is optional for all other Continuing Education students and may be purchased at the Cashier window.
