Federal Work-Study Program

Federal Work-Study (FWS)

The Work-Study Program is a federally funded program in which students are compensated for hours worked at Wilson Community College.  This program is a valuable way to assist in educational expenses while acquiring work experience.

Participants in the FWS program typically work approximately 10-12 hours per week; no more than 25 hours per week.  The rate of pay is $9.00 per hour; FWS students are compensated monthly.

Positions include, but are not limited to, Financial Aid, Switchboard, Campus Library, and various faculty and deans.
Program eligibility:

  • Applicants must be a student at Wilson Community College.
  • Applicants must complete the FAFSA application and have an award in place for the appropriate school year.
  • Applicants must maintain all satisfactory academic progress requirements.
  • Applicants must complete the Federal Work Study application.
