What our students have to say...
Wilson Community College to me is the second chance to change my life and my community.
Growing up in Wilson I didn't value education, I was a high school drop-out and was headed down a bad road. I eventually went to Wilson Community College and earned my GED. I later enrolled as a curriculum student, and it was challenging at first, but I had help from faculty and staff who wanted me to succeed. The help from the institution gave me a foundation to stand on, and I am now on my way to becoming a college graduate. Wilson Community College taught me to believe in myself and chase after my dreams.
I am so thankful to be part of an organization that allows me to grow my mind and as an individual.
I chose Wilson Community College because of the degree programs for Spanish and American Sign Language. This school means a lot to me because when I came here, I did not know what to expect or how I was going to be treated. However, in a matter of moments, I received open arms with warm hearts along with clearly true intentions of making sure every student is successful in the next step in life. I have made new friends, and I feel that I have an extended college family. I am so thankful to be part of an organization that allows me to grow my mind and as an individual.
Without the foundation built at WCC, I would not have been able to transition into a university as smoothly.
Without the foundation built at WCC, I would not have been able to transition into a university as smoothly…Wilson Community College prepared me for my time at UNC-Chapel Hill, which I would not have gotten coming straight from high school. The small classes and interpersonal communications with professors made it easy to excel.
