Barton College Virtual & In-Person Tours-ongoing

ECU Partnership Teach Virtual Open House:

Partnership Teach is East Carolina University’s online degree completion model for education majors who wish to begin at an NC community college and transfer to ECU to complete one of the three teaching degrees:
Elementary Education (K-6)
Special Education (K-12)
Middle Grades Education (Language Arts & Social Studies (6-9)

Virtual Open House Dates:

Virtual Transfer Info Session
Transfer students can take advantage of the 30-minute Q&A session to learn more about the academic programs, application process, financial aid & scholarships, and much more. The following Wednesdays are available:

Transfer Campus Tours
Join fellow transfer students for an hour and a half walking tour around the ECU campus. Student tour guides will show you around the campus and share what it’s like to be a Pirate. Social distancing and masks will be required inside buildings, and other safety measures will be in place.

NC State University Goodnight Transfer Scholars Program

Comprehensive student development program designed to develop scholars into leaders within the STEM and/or education fields.  The Goodnight Scholars Program is expanding to include a cohort of 50 transfer students from community colleges throughout North Carolina.  The Goodnight Transfer Scholars Program is designed to offer a full-tuition scholarship, valued at $21,000 per year to underrepresented students.  To be considered to receive an invitation to apply as a transfer student, a student must:

  • Submit the general NC State application by February 15, 2022.
  • Indicate a family income of less than $110,000 on the general NC State application.
  • Select a Submit the general NC State application by February 15, 2022.
  • Indicate a family income of less than $110,000 on the general NC State application.
  • Select a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or STEM education major at NC State.
  • Enroll as a full-time student at NC State.
  • Be a North Carolina resident. Refugee, DACA, and undocumented students who are living in North Carolina and will graduate from a North Carolina community college are also eligible for this scholarship.
  • Submit his or her Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)  by March 1, 2022.
  • Obtain an associate degree (A.A., A.S., or A.E.) from a North Carolina community college under the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement  by fall 2021.
  • Demonstrate a history of outstanding academic performance.

UNC System Virtual Transfer Fair

February 8-10

All prospective transfer students and advisors have the opportunity to meet with representatives from each of the UNC schools, including but not limited to: Appalachian State University, East Carolina University, Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, and North Carolina State University.  Each virtual session will have five universities presenting information important to transfer students, families, and advisors via Zoom.  The sessions are scheduled at various times throughout the day and will rotate over the three-day event to accommodate different schedules.
