Job Description: Reporting directly to the President, this position is responsible for the oversight and supervision of the College’s planning and institutional effectiveness processes and for coordinating and conducting research to support decision making.

Qualifications: Ability to: Use of a variety of research and statistical methods to manage the collection and dissemination of information for the advancement of the College in support of its mission. Knowledge of: Principles and practices of PC’s and related software; local, state and national community college issues; program and institutional accreditation processes and criteria; practices, theories and concepts related to collecting, analyzing, interpreting and presenting research information and data; principles, practices and techniques of strategic and operation planning, data analysis methods, computations, and uses in research and institutional assessment.

Essential Duties: Coordinates and conducts institutional research to provide information for planning, policy formation, decision making, and assessment, collaborates with faculty, staff, and administration in the selection of survey tools; responsible for selecting statistically valid survey populations, tabulating responses, providing descriptive and inferential statistical analysis of results; collaborates with faculty, staff, and administration to identify and collect data for proposed new curriculum programs, scheduling, recruiting, and other strategies; implements and oversees the annual and strategic planning process; provides data for program and service reviews, specialized program accreditation, grant proposals and the SACS accreditation process; leads preparation for and conducts the 5-Year SACSCOC Interim Report/Review and decennial Reaffirmation of Accreditation; ensures the timely submission of all IPEDS reports, perform the duties of IPEDS key holder and completes specific IE related IPEDS reports; monitors NCCCS due dates as related to reporting requirements; serves as an information source for Financial Aid Title III reporting; supervises the coordination of the College’s response to incoming surveys from outside agencies including institutional compliance reports for SACS, and others as required.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred, with demonstrated expertise in data, statistics, and educational research. Also required is substantial experience with assessment processes in education, preferably in a community college environment.
