Job Description: Under the direction of the President, performs responsible, professional and managerial work for the Foundation, oversees all marketing, and serves as the public information officer for the College.
Qualifications: Knowledge of: Principles and practices of PC’s and related software. College programs and services. Principles of fundraising. Federal/State regulations governing non-profits. Marketing techniques and principles. Research methods. Grant writing terminology. Ability to: Administer and handle the operations of the Foundation. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Develop campaigns to promote public awareness and support for the College and the Foundation. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Foundation Board of Directors, employees, students, the general public, alumni, news media, and civic organizations. Provide technical leadership in grants administration. Develop cost-effective publicity campaigns to support college programs. Write public service announcements and press releases.
Essential Duties: Manages the College’s marketing, advertisements, and related contracts. Manages the College's Foundation by serving as the liaison to the Board of Directors. Organizes Foundation meetings, prepares and distributes publications, reports, minutes, etc. Develops and maintains donor software system and all Foundation records. Coordinates and implements fundraising programs such as major gifts, annual fund drives, planned giving, capital campaigns, etc. Manages disbursement of Foundation funds, including scholarships in coordination with the Financial Aid Office and tuition reimbursements. Develops marketing and promotional materials for the Foundation and the College. Maintains financial records for the Foundation. Works with investment portfolio manager/organization on management of endowment. Develops and maintains alumni database. Coordinates marketing and fundraising events and activities. Researches and identifies grant funding sources, programs, and opportunities and tracks RFP cycles. Assists with the administration of grants that are received. Serves as the College’s news media and public relations contact. Writes and submits press releases and public service announcements to appropriate media outlets. Serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet. Serves on institutional committees as appointed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and experience that demonstrates a substantial working knowledge of fundraising and/or marketing, preferably three (3) to five (5) years.
