Part-Time (ESL) English as a Second Language Instructor for evening classes

Job Description: Under the general supervision of the Director of Continuing Education, the ESL Instructor is responsible for preparing lessons and teaching English to speakers of other languages in accordance with WIOA directives and applicable program guidelines. Must possess ability to adjust teaching styles to a variety of ages, levels, and language competencies, and also appreciate different cultures.
Qualifications: Must have basic computer skills. ESL Certification and/or experience teaching English as a second language preferred and bilingual or understanding of other languages preferred.
Essential Duties: Teach English as a second language to adult students within a classroom setting. Effectively teach English, grammar, writing, reading, speaking, listening, and pronunciation. Maintain required paperwork and electronic records accurately, and submit required documentation in an organized and timely manner. Provide lesson plans in curriculum area to meet the goals and objectives based on academic assessments. Expand on existing curriculum in order to better serve various language learner functioning levels. Must have excellent communication skills and work cooperatively with colleagues and volunteers. Must maintain completely confidentiality of student's personal information as outlined by FERPA. Attend professional development classes.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college/university required. Two (2) or more years of teaching experience required.
