Job Description: Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services/Registrar, provides advising and guidance for program selection, academic progress, and support resources that promote student success. This position also coordinates all recruitment activities and events with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications: Knowledge of: NCCCS policies and procedures related to admissions and placement practices. College policies and procedures. Curriculum program requirements; Best practices for educational counseling and advising. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Ability to: Communicate effectively (written and verbal) in a variety of settings, with people from diverse backgrounds, educational levels, and age groups. Operate a PC, mobile devices, and related software. Use Microsoft Office (word processing, database, presentation, spreadsheets) and relevant applications or internet-based platforms. Synthesize information and demonstrate analytical skills in reaching sound conclusions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, administrators, coworkers, and the public. Prioritize and complete projects and tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.

Essential Duties: Provides holistic advising that addresses students’ academic, professional, personal, and career goals. Serves as first-semester advisor for new students in select programs. Responds to staff-initiated alerts and connects students to support services and resources. Evaluates waivers for special credit students, and enters waivers in Colleague, as needed. Facilitates advising and registration for special credit students. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to plan, schedule and provide recruitment events and activities. Represents the College and coordinates representation for recruitment activities and events, both on and off campus. Coordinates and facilitates campus tours for prospective students, secondary education partners, and external stakeholders. Participates in relevant professional development opportunities. Serves on institutional committees as appointed. Performs other duties as assigned to support the College’s mission.

Education and Experience: Minimum of Master's Degree in Counseling, Adult Education, or related field and two (2) – Three (3) years of experience working with students in a post-secondary educational environment is required for this position. Higher education recruitment experience is preferred.
