Job Description: Under the direction of the Upward Bound Coordinator, provides tutoring services to students grades 9-12, in the Upward Bound Program. This position requires a minimum of 4 hours per week.

Qualifications: Knowledge of Upward Bound purposes and mission. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with director/coordinator, students, parents, and the general public.

Essential Duties: Provides direct tutoring services for Upward Bound program students. Provides computer assisted supplemental instruction to students in reading and English. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in English or related field required. Teaching license preferred but not required. Experience working with low income youth preferred.
