ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE VP OF STUDENT DEVELOPMENT (Regular Part-Time)

Job Description: Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Development, performs administrative and clerical functions for the Vice President and provides support for other units/staff in the division as needed. This is a regular part-time position with a schedule of approximately 28 hours per week.
Qualifications: Knowledge of: Communications systems; Computer systems and related software programs, including spreadsheets, database, and word processing; College programs, policies, and procedures; Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Ability to: Communicate effectively (written and verbal) in a variety of settings, with people from diverse backgrounds, educational levels, and age groups; Operate a PC, mobile devices, and related software; Use Microsoft Office (word processing, database, presentation, spreadsheets), and relevant applications or internet-based platforms; Provide accurate and appropriate information to students, employees and visitors; Establish and maintain effective interactions with students, faculty, administrators, coworkers, and the public; Prioritize and complete projects and repetitive tasks with attention to detail and accuracy; and Maintain confidentiality of information and records. Provide support to Student Development staff as needed to enable them to meet their work requirements. Interface with external contacts, professional and technical, other departments/divisions, customers and the public. Maintain confidentiality of information and records.
Essential Duties: Answers phone calls; takes messages; provides general information and answers basic questions. Responds to requests for information; routes inquiries to appropriate office or individual; follows up on actions as directed. Prepares and edits internal/external documents and special reports as needed. Schedules meetings/appointments; prepares agendas and materials; takes meeting minutes. Submits work orders; completes requisitions; enters orders in e-procurement. Coordinates travel and completes forms for approvals and reimbursements. Assists the Director of Secondary Partnerships with projects and preparation for events. Completes tasks for registration, graduation, and other events. Provides backup support for other administrative units in Student Development. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: A minimum of an Associate degree in Office Administration or related field with one (1) year of clerical support experience is required for this position.

Job Description: Under the direction of the SSS Academic Coaches performs services tutoring students in the Student Support Services program.
Qualifications: Knowledge of Student Support Services purposes and mission. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, faculty, and staff. Ability to manage student files and documentation to meet grant expectations and goals.
Essential Duties: Provides direct tutoring services for program students. Coordinates the English (reading and writing) tutorial program. Assists the Academic Coaches with the coordination of activities in the Student Support Services academic lab. Provides computer assisted supplemental instruction to students in reading and English. Assists with the monitoring of progress of participants. Serves as a liaison between Student Support Services and faculty. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Associate’s degree in Arts or Science or 60 hours of college credit hours is required. Experience working with disadvantaged population preferred.
