The City of Wilson is known as the state’s first gigabit city because of its community-owned “Greenlight” fiber-to-the-home broadband network that offers gigabit speeds. This is a 4.5 day course that will focus on the basics of what fiber optics are, the types of fiber optic networks, and how they are spliced, tested, installed, and maintained. Lectures and hands-on labs will allow students to practice technical skills.
