The Kim Watson Award is given in memory of Kim Watson, a long-time Paralegal Technology instructor, to the outstanding graduate in the Paralegal curriculum. This award is chosen by the faculty. Timothy “TJ” Oteri consistently demonstrated his commitment to WCC, the WCC Paralegal Technology program, and the paralegal profession. He has a long history of community service as a Guardian ad Litem, a first responder, EMT, and security officer. As a student, TJ was a true leader and set an example for other students.
The Faculty Cup is given to outstanding associate degree and diploma graduates who have contributed to the betterment of all students at the College. This award is chosen by the faculty.
William Wolk graduates with an A.A.S. degree in Information Technology – Networking & Cybersecurity Track. In earning his degree, he also obtained the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification Prep certificate. During his time at WCC, William demonstrated outstanding scholarship and dedication as a student and future IT professional with tremendous potential.

Daniela Gomez will complete her Paralegal Technology diploma at the end of the Summer 2020 semester. In addition to her outstanding academic performance, she is a tremendous example of where hard work, dedication, and commitment can take you. Daniela is currently employed in her field with a local law firm in Wilson.
The Chamber of Commerce Award is given to an outstanding graduate in a business-related curriculum. This award is chosen by the business faculty. Christian Joyner will complete an Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration at the end of the Summer 2020 semester.
Each year the NC Community College System recognizes exemplary students from each of the 58 community colleges across the state. Since enrolling in the Paralegal Technology program, Ashley has never earned a course grade below an A. Ashley appreciates legal ethics and demonstrates leadership and integrity in everything she does. When she completes her degree, she will sit for the certification exam administered by the North Carolina State Bar to become a North Carolina Certified Paralegal.
The Dallas Herring Achievement Award was established by the North Carolina Community College System to honor the late Dr. Dallas Herring, one of the state’s earliest advocates of community colleges. The award is bestowed annually upon a current or former student who best embodies Dr. Herring’s philosophy of “taking people where they are and carrying them as far as they can go.”
Louis has maintained a 4.0 GPA while working full-time and raising two young sons with his wife. He has also been a 911 dispatcher and an EMT. Louis leads by example and consistently challenges himself to go further and accomplish more. Upon graduation, he will sit for the certification exam administered by the North Carolina State Bar to become a North Carolina Certified Paralegal.
The North Carolina Association of Community College Presidents created the Governor Robert Scott Leadership Award as a way to student leadership on a statewide level, and honor former Governor Bob Scott. This award is designed to highlight outstanding curriculum student leadership and service.
Ms. Wade has proven herself a consistent, effective, and inspiring leader in the classroom, around the College, and through the community. From compiling an outstanding academic record, to speaking at Constitution Day, to wrapping hundreds of gifts for the Toy Drive – Ms. Wade shows herself to be precisely the quality of student that the Scott Award was created to honor.
