Summer Advanced Manufacturing Academy and Agriculture Academy
About Us
Southeastern Education and Economic Development (SEED) is an initiative of the NC Business Committee for Education, sponsored by Smithfield Foods. SEED is focused on growing eastern NC’s advanced manufacturing and agriculture workforce through work-based learning and pre-apprenticeships. This summer, the program is launching two pathways in Industrial Systems and Agriculture.
This program includes:
- 8 weeks paid summer internship ($15/hour for 25-28 hours/week)
- Potential to earn up to 15 college credits at no cost
- Monthly transportation and supplies stipend
- Classes led by industry professionals
- Hands-on learning experiences
- Weekly field trips to local businesses
- Career Readiness Certificate
