Cierra Dixon
I’m currently studying to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). I chose Wilson Community College because I’ve taken short-term courses here before and always had great experiences. The instructors are supportive, and the peaceful campus atmosphere makes it a great place to learn. My favorite thing so far is getting to know others and learning as much as I can in this class. After completing this course, I plan to continue my journey toward becoming a nurse—right here at Wilson Community College.
Spencer Wild
As a student, I chose Wilson Community College because of the convenience, curriculum, equipment, and cost. My favorite thing about the program is the struggle and the learning curve from basic understanding to ASME certified in less than a year. The work I did in the field straight out of this program hardened me up and grew my expertise to help me transition as an instructor. I thoroughly enjoy teaching here and have a huge passion for what we do. Being a student here helped me have the perspective of what was missing and what we can perfect to give students the best learning experience and to not be lost when they make it into the field.
Daquan Ratley
I chose WCC because I was born and raised right here in Wilson. Obtaining a higher education in my hometown was a goal for me. I am about to graduate in May with my Business Administration diploma and degree. One of my favorite experiences at WCC has been the opportunity to network through various programs like TRiO and serve as a Pack Peer Mentor, which has opened many doors for me.
Hailey Gudac
I chose WCC because it was both affordable and convenient. I pursued a double major in Business Administration and Accounting & Finance entirely online, which allowed me to work part-time and pay for school out of pocket. One of my favorite experiences as a student was how simple the scholarship process was—I was fortunate to receive three scholarships during my time here. Now, as a staff member, one of the things I enjoy most is encouraging students to apply for scholarships and watching them receive one when they thought they didn’t have a chance. They can truly make a big difference in helping cover the cost of education, just like they did for me.
