Placement Testing

Wilson Community College currently offers the following placement tests:

  • EdReady
  • TEAS

Additional information for each test is below. All placement testing is held in Building F Room 103C.

Wilson Community College uses the EdReady placement test administered via computer. The purpose of the placement test is to ensure curriculum students are accurately placed in English and math courses. The EdReady placement tests are not timed.

Only applicants who do not meet one of the following criteria will be required to take the placement test as part of the admissions process:

  • Graduated from a US High School.
  • Earned developmental course credit(s).
  • Successfully completed a college-level English and/or math course.
  • Completed an eligible placement test within the last 10 years.
  • Earned an associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.

Applicants who meet one of the above criteria will be placed in English and math according to one of the placement guides below that best applies to them:

A scientific calculator and formula sheet will be provided for the math placement test. One repeat attempt for each English and/or math placement test is allowed. The repeat attempt must be scheduled at least 30 days after the first attempt. Placement test appointments can be made by contacting Student Development at 252-246-1281. All appointments will be scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on the date of the test. There is not a cost associated with taking the placement tests. Be sure to bring a photo ID (i.e. driver’s license).

Allied Health students MUST first complete a Wilson Community College application and all required transcripts and placement information must be received in order to sign up for the TEAS Test. Please visit https://www.wilsoncc.edu/apply-now/ if you have any admissions related questions.

TEAS Request Form and Sign Up

The cost of the TEAS Test is $70.00 and must be paid to the College’s Business Office by the day of the test. If you are confirmed for your selected date, be sure to arrive a few minutes early and bring your receipt of payment, photo ID, and atitesting.com login information. The test cannot be administered unless each of these are presented.

You CANNOT retest more than once in 12 months, and it MUST be at least 30 days since your last test attempt. Also, due to the number of applicants, spots may have already filled prior to your selected test date. If that happens, you will be contacted to schedule an alternative test date.

Please review the ATI TEAS V.7 Resources and Updates for the most current information.
