Computer Training

Computer training is designed to provide instructional opportunities for individuals to gain new and/or upgrade skills needed in the workforce.

Note:  All classes are not offered each semester. Check the Continuing Education schedule for current offerings.

Administrative Medical Office Assistant

This 96 hour training covers communications, record management, business ethics, stress management, total quality concepts, telephone skills, electronic medical records, MS Word and Excel. Prior introductory PC course recommended. Textbook required. (8.0 CEU)

Adobe Lightroom

A beginning photography course to introduce students to basic aesthetic issues in image making as well as photographic techniques utilizing digital cameras, electronic image processing and printing using Adobe Lightroom 6. (2.4 CEU)

Adobe Photoshop CC6 – Advanced

Teaches every tool in the toolbox. Explore Photoshop’s most powerful feature! (2.4 CEU)

Advanced Digital Photography

Learn how to take your photography skills to the next level by taking the best photos you can create with your digital camera. You will learn the terms and concepts from and experienced digital photographer with proven teaching skills. Course topics include using flash, off-camera lighting, special effects, and trick photography.

Introduction to Digital Photography

Take your photography skills to the next level by taking the best photos you can create with your digital camera. Learn what terms and concepts mean from an experienced digital photographer. This course will guide you through each and every button on your camera and teach you how to use it. No text required. (2.4 CEU)

Introduction to Microsoft Word 2016

This course is designed for the inexperienced user of Word 2016. Topics include introduction to Ribbons, Fonts, WordArt, and ClipArt. Emphasis will be placed on proper use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling within all documents. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to create and edit documents for business and social occasions.

Introduction to Personal Computers

This course offers basic computer concepts and vocabulary to help you become familiar with your PC. You will learn file management, review Microsoft Office software, and explore the Internet.

Introduction to Personal Computers (Intermediate)

This course is designed for the computer user who already has basic skills with mouse usage, Windows 10, and the Internet and wishes to build upon them. Topics include a more in-depth look at Windows 10, as well as using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint navigation techniques, shortcuts, and detailed formatting of documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Key websites will be explored and discussed.

Introduction to PowerPoint 2016

This course is designed to teach the skills you need to successfully use PowerPoint 2016. Step-by-Step instruction and detailed explanation will show you how to create a presentation from start to finish using the tools PowerPoint has available. You do not need previous experience with PowerPoint to be able to complete this course. This course will start with basic skills and then move forward to more advanced features and techniques.

Microsoft Excel Introduction 

Using Excel 2016, students will learn to create, modify and format Excel worksheets, perform calculations, and print Excel workbooks. The class will focus on using advanced formulas working with lists as well as illustrations and charts. Students will learn to work with pivot tables, audit worksheets, data tools, protect documents for collaboration with others, and work with macros.

Microsoft Excel for the Workplace

Review the fundamentals of Microsoft Excel while learning new shortcuts and how to write formulas. Upon completion of the class, students will be able to write simple formulas and create charts.

Windows 10

Windows 10 is familiar and easy to use, with lots of similarities to Windows 7 including the Start menu. It starts up and resumes fast, has more built-in security to help keep you safe, and is designed to work with software and hardware you already have.
