This Emergency Medical Services (EMS) credential-related course must adhere to the most current guidelines established by the NC Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) as applicable to this refresher course. This may include, but not be limited to, OEMS Education Institution approval, program director and instructor standards, classroom and distance education course approval, admissions requirements, course content, equipment standards, and related course management policies and standards. OEMS guidelines align with the rules of the NC Medical Care Commission and standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. REQUIREMENTS:
Must hold a current EMT Credential (NC, NREMT, or other state) or have held an EMR or EMT with North Carolina (There is no limit on time of expiration, the only requirement is that your credential can be verified by being listed in Continuum) or held an Advanced Level NC EMS Credential (AEMT or Paramedic) with North Carolina (There is no limit on time of expiration, the only requirement is that your credential can be verified by being listed in Continuum)
Note: This option is for people that want to reenter the system with an EMT rather than the higher level credential previously held.
